Wild About Omaha!

Image
July 24 & 25 Mutual of Omaha sponsored a "Wild about Omaha" weekend of free events around the city.  We had a great Family Night Out on Friday with Root Beer Floats at the Durham Heritage Museum & a tour of their "Money" exhibit as well as a little wine tasting while we walked through the Lauritzen Botanical Gardens.  Enjoy the pics! "Daddy, can I have a float?"  Food stands were set up in the parking lot of the Museum with a small stage for a folk band with straw bales or tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the festivities. Can you see the foam mustache?  Jacob got a small taste.  The museum is the old Union Pacific Train Station.  With so many people there for the weekend I can imagine the station bustling with travelers back in it's day. The ticket booths have been turned into a gift shop now. Conductor Jacob! There were lots of educational games in the "Moneyville" exhibit, including a stock market.  Daddy says "Buy low, sell ...

My dear, beautiful cousin Paula married tall, dark, and handsome Tom on July 11th and I was  honored  to be one of her bridesmaids.  Every once in a while you meet a couple who is obviously absolutely PERFECT for each other and you just can't stop smiling when you see them together.....they're like peanut butter and jelly.....the perfect combination!  From their light-hearted banter to the adoring looks they give each other, Thomas and Paula compliment each other very well.  Praise God for giving us "helpmates suitable" (Genesis 2:18)!  Congrats Tom and Paula!   We're praying for you during this exciting time in your lives!  Here are some pictures from the big day. Beautiful Bride Susan (Paula's sister) and I Kim, Mindy, Bethany, Haley, Susan and Paula during the reception. Love songs for the Bride and Groom to kiss! To be nice, or not to be....that is the question.  (Answer: Tom is nice, Paula is not!) Susan and Jacob Cousins: Makenna, Denver, and Jacob Famil...

Waltner Family Camping

Our extended Waltner family had our annual camping trip at the end of June and a GREAT time was had by all. It's something that I personally look forward to all year long. I have a wonderful family. Thanks to all of them for all the work of planning and packing and scheduling to make this special time together a priority! Love you! The first annual ladder ball/bean bag/bocce ball triathalon: We drew names to make guy/gal teams. Evan and I were the winners and Mindy and Jeff came in a close second. I need to make some sort of traveling trophy that we can pass along over the years! Tickle, tickle, Denver! Be nice to your uncle and you finish with a smile.... However, make a cocky remark to your father (Drew: "He can't tip me off") and there may be a sore ending! He bounced around on top of the water long enough for me to take 3 pictures of the wipe-out! Kiddy pool for...
