Thanksgiving Blessing

A good occasion for starting a blog.....a new baby! Just in time for Thanksgiving, we are elated to share the blessing of our son, Jacob Alexander Kliewer, with our family and friends. He was born November 26th at 11:35 a.m. weighing 6 lbs., 13 oz. and 19 inches long. So far he's a very good baby. He only cries when he's hungry, or cold, or getting a shot or foot prick at the hospital (mommy cries then too!). He does have a good pair of lungs though. Cousin Alana (almost 3 yrs. old) heard him cry from the other room and thought she heard a baby elephant!

Right now we are adjusting well to our family of three & fully enjoying time off from work and visitors oooing and ahhhing over our precious baby boy. Jeff was an amazing support throughout the labor and delivery - the nurses said I should hire him out as a Doula because he's an awesome birthing coach - and he certainly is the proud Papa now. We are praising God for his goodness to us and for answering so many prayers with one tiny baby! God is SO good!

It'll be my first big hit and will sound strangely similar to Taylor Swift's "Teardrops on my guitar" because I'm not creative enough to be a songwriter..... 6 month check-up

Jacob's 6 month well baby check-up was yesterday, so here's the stats! Weight: 18 lbs. 11 oz - 72nd% Height: 27.5 in. - 85th% He's finally slowing down the weight gain. Jacob was consistently gaining 2-3 lbs. every month, but this last month he's stayed about the same. She even weighed him twice on 2 different scales to make sure since I said he was 19.2 when I weighed him at home at the beginning of the month. I weighed him when we got home from the appointment (me holding him minus me not holding him) and our scale scale said he's 19.6 with his clothes and diaper on. So that gives me hope that MY weight is actually slightly less too! Ha, Ha! As long as my bridesmaid dress has to be altered we might as well size it down a little more, right Paula? :) I guess I'm the cautious first time parent, because when I take Jacob to his check-ups the nurses ask questions like they assume I've already given him solid foods and such.
