Jacob's 8 Month Review

Ok, I admit that I am horribley behind in my updates, so here's "Jacob's 8 Month Review" soon to be followed with a 9 month review, and then I'll post his 10 month pictures.......time is going WAY TO FAST for my liking. Oh well, all we can do is enjoy every second of our time with him, and we DO!

Ok, 8 months old....let's start with his 8 month pictures. They're cute, but I didn't get a "perfect shot".........difficult when constantly needing to rebuild the "Jacob" tower and try to get him to hold the blocks AND look at me with a big smile for the camera - TOO MUCH MOM! He was done with this Portrait session earlier than I anticipated, but it was probably best for all of us. He's still adorable!

Favorite foods at 8 months.......

Watermelon! There's a big chunk inside the mesh holder since he was not quite ready for chunky foods yet. The bib was a necessity, the watermelon juice was flowing down his little chin!

Blueberry Applesauce! Actually, anything with apples, but especially blueberries.

Fun 8 month things.....

Jack and JAK - he still LOVES his kitties & they put up with a lot of hair grabbing and tail pulling! They are a big distraction at meal time, but Jacob squeals with delight at the mere sight of them. I am saddened to report that the cats have since been taken back to the farm.....messes on the carpet and crawling babies do not mix.

Jacob was starting to stand when we leaned him up against furniture and I knew it would not be long before he would start pulling himself up on his own. So we lowered his crib. After doing so we put him in his crib and he immediately demonstrated this task, not a moment too soon!

Playdates!!! Jacob's first playdate was actually at the Slininger's house with their 4 kids, however, I neglected to get the camera out for that one. The next week we were at the Leybolds. Between the girls cuddling and kissing him and the Lambert's dog they had for the week Jacob was a little overwhelmed by the time we left, but he had a great time!

Darby likes to give kisses!

Brody, Tessa, & Lisa

Tessa always wants to hold Jacob, she doesn't understand how big and heavy he is now!

My friend Debbie has a pass at the Children's Museum here in Omaha and invited Jacob and I & Seth and his mommy, Katie, to come with her and her boys one day at the end of August. We spent the majority of our time in the infant play room, but Jacob and I zipped through the special exhibit of Elmo's "The Body" before we left just to see what it was like. There was lots to look at, but our "Three Musketeer's" weren't quite old enough to fully enjoy and play with all the cool educational toys. It was fun to watch Jaden, Debbie's 3(?) year old explore.

Seth and Jacob playing. This table had little chairs in it!

Jacob and Nathan

This was Jacob's typical stance while he was preparing to learn how to crawl. I remember my nephew, Denver doing the same thing.....Mindy called it "leaving his options open" in case he wanted to sit back down or back up. At this point Jacob had taken about two crawl steps on several occations in the last week & a half but hadn't "taken off" yet. About two days later he was crawling all over the room and was quite proud of himself. The jumper was no longer acceptable when he started crawling, it confined him to one spot!
